Meta announces Ads Super Burst, a 3-24 hour window for TV-scale brand reach

At its Brand Building Summit on October 15, 2026, Meta introduced Ads Super Burst. Advertisers reserve a window of 3 to 24 hours, and with category exclusivity switched on, no rival in the same category can take that window. Meta says the tool is rolling out to general availability in phases this month.

01 · WHAT HAPPENED?

Meta unveils a way to reserve a timed window for brand campaigns

In a Meta for Business post dated October 15, 2026, the company listed new tools for brand awareness campaigns. The headline item is Ads Super Burst, which Meta calls "a new way for advertisers and agencies to build brand awareness". An advertiser books a window of 3 to 24 hours to reach its audience at a scale similar to television. With category exclusivity available, no other advertiser in that category can book the same window. Campaigns are planned in Reach Planner, which is also how inventory is secured.

Meta says the tool is moving to general availability this month in a phased rollout; the announcement does not name the markets. Social Media Today covered the news the same day, October 15, 2026. Meta's showcase example is Dove, which used Super Burst to get its message noticed while a big American tennis event held its women's final.

02 · DETAILS

The figures come from Meta's own tests, alongside three separate trials

According to the test results Meta shares, Super Burst campaigns lifted ad recall by a median 2.9 points and intent by 0.6 points, and each flight reached a median of 34 million people. Meta adds that for Super Burst, Reach Planner estimates reach and price, with delivery guaranteed against those estimates. All of these statistics are Meta's own measurements, not independent verification.

The other items in the announcement are earlier-stage. First Impression Ads lets a brand take the first ad slot a person sees on opening the Facebook app; it is an early test limited to one brand per day, running in the United States according to Meta, which Social Media Today also reports. Reels Trending Ads now offer 15 always-on standard topics, with new Home & Garden and Spanish-language categories, and custom audience exclusions are due later this year. Meta says these ads raised action intent by more than 5 percentage points over control groups with no campaign exposure. Aggregated View Time, in alpha, is meant to track and optimize how much total time a person spends with a brand over a whole week. According to Meta's research, five seconds of attention accumulated across a week produced 32% more offline sales than a single unbroken five-second view.

03 · WHY IT MATTERS

TV-style buying logic arrives next to performance automation

For advertisers the change is in how a campaign gets planned: an hourly window plus a category nobody else can enter lets a launch or campaign day concentrate its budget into a single moment. Social Media Today describes Super Burst as a premium, more expensive option that fits event-driven promotions, and points out that LinkedIn, Snapchat and TikTok already sell comparable priority placements. Meta also points to a study of more than 1,000 global campaigns, where, by Meta's account, its platforms beat the average brand channel on awareness by 18% and lifted consideration by 73%.

Aggregated View Time points to a shift from judging a single impression toward judging exposure across a week, but because it is in alpha it is a direction of travel today, not a measurement standard. We covered Meta's previous move on ad placements on October 13.

04 · TÜRKİYE

The sources say nothing about Türkiye, so this section is commentary

Neither source mentions Türkiye. There is no statement on whether Super Burst will be offered there, no local date and no Türkiye pricing, and the Meta page does not say which markets general availability covers. This section is therefore not a fact drawn from the sources but explicitly UNALSOFT commentary.

Our reading is that a brand in Türkiye should first get confirmation from its Meta account representative on access, on how category exclusivity works and on budget level. The open questions are: when it might open in Türkiye, which categories could be reserved there, what the minimum spend is, and in which markets Aggregated View Time will be tested. None of that is in the announcement, so it has to be asked of Meta before any plan is built.

The UNALSOFT view

We read this announcement as a calendar tool. A timed, exclusive awareness flight makes sense for brands that script a launch or campaign day in advance; it does not replace always-on performance campaigns. Because every figure comes from Meta's own tests, the first trial should be set up with cautious measurement and modest expectations. Positioning a burst like this inside your account, next to the campaign calendar, is part of our ad management work. Since the sources carry no data about Türkiye, this article makes no promise about local availability.
