Model fatigue across the AI labs
CNBC reported on 6 September 2026 that the major AI labs shipped models back to back in a single week. Anthropic released Claude Fable 5.1 and Claude Mythos 5.1 on Tuesday, Meta announced Muse Spark 1.3 and Google announced Gemini 3.8 Flash on Wednesday, and OpenAI released GPT-6 Astra alongside the K2 Horizon family from Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence on Thursday. Runpod CEO Zhen Lu calls the pace model fatigue, while Ahmed Abbasi says the firms are competing for share of wallet. Gartner expects 2026 AI spending to reach 2.59 trillion dollars, a 47 percent rise over 2025.
Türkiye widens reporting duties for commercial activity in digital environments
Türkiye's Ministry of Treasury and Finance published General Communiqué No. 595 of the Tax Procedure Law in the Official Gazette dated 5 September 2026, issue 33361. Amending Communiqué No. 538 from 2022, it adds e-commerce service providers, intermediary service providers, access, content and hosting providers and social network providers to the list of reporting parties. Web addresses, identity data used to establish taxpayer status and listing records must be reported, based on one-month periods of the calendar year, and the communiqué took effect on the date of publication.
YouTube's co-viewed views metric
YouTube added Views (co-viewed), a metric that estimates the people watching together on a television screen, to its advanced analytics mode; the announcement came in a Creator Insider video on 5 September 2026 and the metric went live on 31 August 2026. In Google's example, a household of three watching a video twice registers as 6 co-viewed views and 3 viewers under unique reach. The estimate rests on statistical modelling fed by demographic patterns, video genre and viewing times, with no accuracy rate or independent audit published. Partner Program earnings and eligibility keep running on engaged and qualified views, and the public watch page counter is unchanged. Processing takes up to 48 hours, so ranges covering the last two days read low.
